How can we help?
Most questions about Peppin are answered below. If yours isn't, or something isn't working the way it should, write to us and a real person on the team will get back to you.
Getting started
What Peppin is and how to begin.
Peppin is a habit companion you talk to over iMessage. You text it what you're working on and what you did, and it keeps track, checks in with you, and remembers what matters so you don't have to repeat yourself.
Tap ‘Meet Peppin’ on peppin.ai. Messages opens with a first text ready to send. Send it, and Peppin will ask a few quick questions about what you'd like to work on. After that, just keep texting.
The same way you'd text a friend, in the Messages app. Peppin works over iMessage for now, so you'll need an iPhone, iPad or Mac with iMessage turned on.
Send from your phone number rather than an Apple ID email address. If Peppin isn't receiving your messages, this is the most common reason — see ‘My messages aren't sending’ below.
No. Everything works inside Messages. Peppin also has an iMessage app that can show progress cards inside the conversation, but you don't need it to use Peppin.
Building and keeping everyday habits: food, water, workouts, sleep, steps, weight, and personal goals you set in your own words. Peppin can also send you reminders and check-ins, and show your progress when you ask for it.
From what you tell it. Your goals, routines and preferences shape how Peppin replies and what it suggests later. You're always in control of what you share, and you can correct Peppin at any time.
Tracking & logging
Logging works by conversation. No forms, no searching.
Tell Peppin what you ate in plain words, like “had eggs and toast” or “chicken salad for lunch”. You can also send a photo of your meal, a barcode, or a nutrition label.
Nutrition numbers are estimates. If one looks off, just tell Peppin and it will update it.
Say what you did and roughly how long, like “45 minutes at the gym” or “went for a 20 minute run”. Peppin records workouts in minutes.
Text an amount, like “16 oz of water” or “finished another bottle”. Peppin understands cups, ounces, millilitres and litres. Including an amount helps it keep an accurate total.
Tell Peppin how long you slept, like “slept 7 hours”.
Just say so. “Delete that” removes the most recent thing Peppin logged. You can also correct it directly, like “that was two eggs, not three” or “that was dinner, not lunch”.
If a correction doesn't land the way you expected, tell Peppin again in different words, or email team@peppin.ai.
It happens, especially with short or ambiguous messages. Correct it in your next message and Peppin will update what it recorded. Adding a detail, like an amount or a time, usually clears things up.
You write naturally and Peppin works out what you meant: what kind of thing it was, the amount, and when. It confirms what it logged in its reply, so you can catch anything that isn't right straight away.
Reminders
Ask for reminders in your own words, and change them the same way.
Once you've set up a habit, Peppin can check in at the times that suit you. You can also ask for one-off personal reminders. Reminders arrive as normal messages in your Peppin conversation.
Ask naturally and include a time, like “remind me to call mom at 6” or “remind me to take out the trash tonight”. Peppin confirms the reminder once it's set.
Tell Peppin what to change, like “move my walk reminder to 6pm” or “reschedule my walk reminder to tomorrow at 9am”.
Reply to a reminder with “turn that off”, name the one you mean, like “cancel my dentist reminder” or “no more water reminders”, or send “stop reminders” to turn them all off.
Changed your mind? Send something like “water reminders back on”.
- Make sure you finished setting up with Peppin. Reminders start after setup is complete.
- Check that Peppin knows your time zone, so reminders arrive at the right local time. You can simply tell it where you are.
- Make sure you haven't turned reminders off. If you have, ask Peppin to turn them back on.
- Check that the Peppin conversation isn't muted and that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't hiding it.
- If they still don't arrive, email team@peppin.ai and tell us which reminder you expected and when.
Personalization
Peppin gets more useful the more it knows about your routine.
Peppin may use what you share, like your goals, your usual meals, and when you tend to work out, to make future conversations and suggestions more relevant to you.
Correct it in the conversation, like “I don't eat meat” or “I work out in the mornings now”. Peppin will use the corrected information from then on.
Tell Peppin, the same way you'd tell a friend. “I want to focus on sleep now” or “I'm training for a half marathon” is enough.
Account & technical issues
If something isn't working, start here.
- Try sending the message again.
- Check your internet or mobile connection.
- Make sure iMessage is on and set to send from your phone number, not only an Apple ID email. On iPhone, look under Settings, Apps, Messages, Send & Receive.
- Close and reopen the Messages app.
- If it still won't send, email team@peppin.ai.
Peppin usually replies within a few seconds. If it's gone quiet, give it a minute, then send your message again. Check your connection and that the message shows as delivered.
If Peppin still doesn't reply, email team@peppin.ai with roughly when you sent the message.
Some features are still being rolled out, and not everything is available to everyone yet. Ask Peppin directly, like “can you track steps?”, or email team@peppin.ai and we'll let you know.
For a log or a detail Peppin has wrong, correct it in the conversation. If your progress page shows something that doesn't match what you told Peppin, text “dashboard” to open a fresh link, and email team@peppin.ai if it's still wrong.
Text Peppin “dashboard” or “show me my progress” and it will send you a link to your personal page.
Text Peppin “delete my account” (or “reset”). Peppin will explain what that removes and ask you to confirm by replying “reset” within 10 minutes. Confirming permanently deletes your logs, habits, reminders, progress, and what Peppin remembers about you. It can't be undone.
Peppin keeps your phone number and a minimal account record so that you can keep texting it afterwards. To have those removed as well, email team@peppin.ai and include the phone number you use with Peppin.
Deleting your data doesn't cancel a paid subscription. Cancel your subscription first — see ‘How do I cancel?’ below. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Billing & subscription
Payments for Peppin are processed by Stripe.
Your price, billing cadence and any trial are shown at checkout before you're charged. You can also ask Peppin about your subscription in the conversation, or email team@peppin.ai.
Use the link in your Stripe receipt email to manage or cancel your subscription. Cancelling stops future charges. If you can't find the email, write to team@peppin.ai and we'll help.
Peppin subscriptions aren't purchased through Apple, so they won't appear in your Apple ID subscriptions.
Email team@peppin.ai with the date and amount of the charge and the email address on your receipt. Please don't send full card numbers. We'll look into it and get back to you.
Email team@peppin.ai with your receipt details and what happened, and we'll review your request. Our Terms of Service cover subscriptions and payment.
Privacy & data
Straightforward guidance about what you share.
Only what you're comfortable sharing. Peppin works fine for habit tracking without detailed personal or health information, so share as much or as little as feels right.
Email team@peppin.ai with any question about your account or your data. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how it's used, and your choices.
Yes. Peppin uses AI to understand your messages and photos and to write its replies. The Privacy Policy explains how that processing works and which kinds of providers are involved.
